    • "Growing up, one of my favorite places was Penny Whistle Park--an indoor amusement park for children, which closed decades ago.  In an effort to recall fun-loving, exciting and colorful memories, I created this work to expose my inner child.  By capturing images and manipulating photography from seemingly impromptu carnivals that pop up in retail parking lots, I recreated the amusement park in a new location, hoping the images invoke carefree memories of childhood fun.

Ladies, Gentlemen, and children of all ages are invited to step-up and enjoy the thrills of "Peso Whistle Park"--Just one last ride before the park closes for good..."

      -John Alexander Taylor, 2013

      • The "Peso Whistle Park: One Last Ride" exhibit runs September 30-October 29 at the Visit Addison Gallery
      • Artist Reception, Friday, October 4, 6-9pm at the Visit Addison Gallery (FREE and open to the public!)

      About the Artist:

John Alexander Taylor was born in Dallas Texas,  Drawn to art at an early age, Taylor pursued a Bachelors in Fine Art at Kansas City Art Institute before returning to Texas to receive an MA and MFA from The University of Dallas -- with both degrees concentrating on Printmaking.

John Alexander Taylor investigates the world of commercial art processes by blending the rules of commercial and fine art by using digital process in printing and plotting large vinyl murals of his own images. Understanding classic printmaking techniques and the way both worlds work the artist gets to break the rules by coming up with a new process.
